Payment Methods

The deposit and balance of hire payments can be made by bank transfer or cash. A cheque is acceptable provided an additional week is allowed for above and over normal payment terms.

The damage deposit is normally paid by cheque not less than 14 days before the start of the hire period. This will not be banked, but will be held and returned to you once all items have been checked and quantity verified after the hire period has ended

Payment Amounts & Terms

For orders of less than £100, a deposit of 100% of the total value of the order is required on booking.

For orders of over £100, the deposit is 50% of the total value of the order.

The total amount payable must be paid not less than one month prior to the start of the hire period.

The damage deposit is £100 for orders up to the value of £500, and 25% of the total  value for orders over £500.

Collections & Returns

Customers are welcome to collect and return the china to our base near Salisbury. Any delivery up to 10 miles from our location is free of charge, up to 20 miles will cost £10 and up to 30 miles will cost £20. For deliveries further than 30 miles, we will arrange an individual quote. Please discuss your requirements with us so we can be as much help as possible.

Hire Period

Our hire period is flexible, but usually we consider a hire period as being 1 to 3 days. Please discuss your requirements with us, but if you require much longer hire periods we reserve the right to make a surcharge to be agreed in advance.

Damages

Should any items be chipped or cracked, each item will be charged at £5 per individual item such as cup/saucer/tea plate. Larger items will be charged at £10 per item: this includes tea pots, cake stands, large plates, sugar bowls and jugs. Any items missing or broken will be charged at £15 and a £35 charge for teapots and cake stands. Note broken items should be wrapped carefully and marked damaged - they must still be returned to Nanny Nellies Attic, for our disposal.

Washing China & Cutlery

The cost of hire includes the washing up on return of all items by Nanny Nellies Attic. However it is the hirer's responsibility to remove excess waste, i.e. plates scraped, sugar bowls, teapots cups and cream jugs emptied before repacking otherwise we reserve the right to levy a surcharge which may be taken from the deposit.

Under no circumstances must any china be washed in a dishwasher.

Liability

Nanny Nellies Attic accepts no responsibility in the event of any injury or damage to hirers or property resulting from the use or misuse of any or all hired items or equipment, howsoever caused. These terms apply during the hire period, and during customer collection and return.

Stock Viewing

If you wish to view any of our stock, we recommend firstly to arrange a viewing on social media. This is convenient and would normally suffice to allow you to hand pick any items you prefer. If physical viewing is still required, this can be arranged by prior appointment at a mutually convenient time. There is a £40 viewing charge for this service - however should you decide to place an order then a £30 discount is given. Viewing can only be made once the viewing charge is received.

Cancellation

Cancellation is charged at the following rates:

Less then 14 days before the event, deposit is non-returnable.

More than 14 days before the event, 50% of the deposit is returned.

Other Terms

All items remain the property of Nanny Nellies Attic at all times.

There is no set minimum order value as we aim to cater for a wide range of events.

Please check your order carefully on delivery/collection. and sign the delivery note to confirm you are happy with the order. We cannot accept any faults or discrepancies notified after the order has been signed for.

Due to the vintage nature of the products there may be signs of wear, such as to the gilt, but there will be no chips or cracks to the china or glassware.

All items hired from Nanny Nellies Attic remain the responsibility of the hirer during the hire period, including if the order is left at another premises, and remains so until return or collection.
